What's the Difference?
Accredited vs. Non-Accredited Investors
At Next Legacy Group, we work with both accredited and non-accredited investors. The distinction matters because U.S. securities laws determine what types of investment opportunities we’re legally allowed to share with each group.
This page is designed to explain the difference — nothing more.
What is an Accredited Investor?
An accredited investor is someone who meets specific income or net worth thresholds set by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
You may qualify as an accredited investor if any one of the following applies to you:
Income
• $200,000+ annually (or $300,000+ with a spouse) for the past two years, with a reasonable expectation of the same
Net Worth
• $1,000,000+ net worth, excluding your primary residence
Other Qualifications
• Certain professional licenses (Series 7, 65, or 82)
• Certain qualifying entities (LLCs, trusts, partnerships)
Accredited status does not reflect experience or require participation. It only affects what can be offered legally.
What is a Non-Accredited Investor?
The Next Legacy Group must establish a relationship with non-accredited investors before sharing certain investment opportunities.
While options may be more limited, they are not inferior.
This does not mean:
• You cannot invest
• You are not qualified
• You are a poor fit
These limitations exist solely due to regulatory requirements.
Why We Ask?
Investment Opportunities are designated as non-accredited OR accredited offerings. Sponsors need to know your status allowing us to stay SEC compliant.
This way we will only share the appropriate offering to you. This helps us educate you as an investor as we communicate responsibly with you.
Important Notes
1. Your self-identify—no verification is required to join the list.
2. You can change your status at any time.
3. This is not legal, tax, or investment advice.
4. We encourage you to speak with your CPA or financial advisor if unsure.
Still Not Sure?
That’s completely normal. If you’re unsure whether you qualify as an accredited investor, simply select “Not Sure” when asked, and we’ll ensure you receive only the appropriate information.
